About
Robert Buchholz was born in Chicago in 1958. Sometimes known as Sir Robert, Bob has been creating self-taught found object art assemblages since the early 80s. Recently discovered by Outsider collectors, his artwork is now featured in the underground scene around the world. Through his love of music Bob has worked as a freelance musician, in various bands and busking since the mid 70s, as he hitchhiked across the USA. Sir Robert sculptures have been compared as influenced by Joseph Cornell, Max Ernst, and Marcel Duchamp. His work has been featured at Chicago Public Library as well as a variety of group shows across the country.
